How BitwiseCalc handles your data when you use our tools.
BitwiseCalc is built with developer privacy in mind. Every calculator on this site — the bitwise calculator, hex to ASCII converter, SHA256 generator, and all programming tools — runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. No data you enter is ever transmitted to, stored on, or processed by any server. We designed the site so that we physically cannot access the numbers, hex strings, or hash inputs you work with.
We use Google Analytics (Measurement ID: G-RSQPFKWQH6) to collect anonymous, aggregate usage statistics. This helps us understand which tools and features are most useful. The data collected includes:
This information is collected via cookies and tracking technologies set by Google Analytics. The data is anonymized — your IP address is masked. We use this data exclusively to improve the site and prioritize development of the tools developers use most.
BitwiseCalc uses minimal cookies, strictly limited to Google Analytics functionality:
These cookies are set and managed by Google Analytics and are subject to Google's privacy policy. We do not set any first-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies entirely in your browser settings, and all calculator tools will continue to function normally — calculations happen client-side and do not depend on cookies.
The bitwise calculator includes a calculation history feature that saves your recent operations using the browser's localStorage API. This data stays exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to any server. You can clear your calculation history at any time by clicking the "Clear All" button in the history panel or by clearing your browser's local storage.
The only third-party service integrated with this website is Google Analytics. Google may transfer the information collected by its cookies to servers in the United States and other countries where Google operates. We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization. We do not integrate with advertising networks, affiliate programs, data brokers, social media platforms, or any other third-party services. For more information about how Google handles data, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months in accordance with Google's standard retention policy. After this period, the data is automatically deleted from Google's servers. No user-level data is stored on our side — we cannot access, export, or delete individual user data because we never collect it. The calculation history stored in your browser's localStorage persists until you clear it via the "Clear All" button in the calculator interface.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, delete, or opt out of data collection. To exercise any of these rights, or if you have questions about how your data is handled, please contact us at the domain email address. Note that because we do not collect personal data on our side, most rights requests will need to be directed to Google for the data processed by Google Analytics.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal compliance. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
